At the Ciro Coffee Academy, education is at the heart of everything we do. We have always taken pride in being leaders and pioneers in the South African coffee industry when it comes to coffee training and skills upliftment.
The time has now come for us, once again, to raise the bar and enter into a new era of training. For the first time in South Africa, the Ciro Coffee Academy will be offering a range of Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) certified courses to ensure that the training we offer is of the highest quality and meets global coffee education standards. The SCAE hosts some of the most advanced and respected coffee education training qualifications in the world and sets the industry benchmarks for coffee education. The courses on offer form part of the Coffee Diploma System of the SCAE and will be issued to trainees once 100 credits have been achieved through the different modules.
From September 2016, Ciro’s newly Authorised SCAE Trainers will have 10 modules on offer to suit a variety of needs and levels of coffee training: from the first-time barista approaching the coffee machine to the more experienced barista looking to further their skill base and take their career to a professional level. The courses will include: Introduction to Coffee, Barista Skills, Brewing and Roasting.
