Born from a desire to rethink, reinvent and re-energise the way how philanthropy is viewed, the Sun International CEO SleepOut TM on 28 July 2016 allowed business influencers to empathise with the homeless by asking these influencers to rise to the challenge and spend a night on the streets, on the Nelson Mandela Bridge in Johannesburg.
This year’s CEO SleepOut however differed to the first one held last year where CEOs were required to pay forward the idea of social entrepreneurship to three future leaders to ensure sustainable social impact towards the future of South Africa. Together, they will make up the #4Leaders4Change.
As an annual contributing sponsor, Ciro had the privilege of sponsoring all the coffee, tea & hot chocolate on the evening on the iconic Nelson Mandela Bridge where the event took place. The #4Leaders4Change enjoyed Douwe Egberts liquid coffee dispensed through the sophisticated Cafitesse system; exclusively available and distributed in South Africa by Ciro. Douwe Egberts was specifically used as the Cafitesse system has the ability to brew coffee at an unprecedented speed, minimising wastage with the added benefit of being energy efficient.
Ciro was proud to be a contributing partner to such a philanthropic movement and we look forward to participating next year on Robben Island, Cape Town.
