Every year on Mandela Day, 18 July, South Africans are asked to give 67 minutes to help “take action and inspire change” in our country. This year, the Ciro Western Cape team wanted to honour Madiba’s legacy of kindness and service to others by doing something for the children of South Africa.
One of the initiatives was by bringing a cup of warmth, and a moment of happiness, with over 200 cups of Hug in a Mug to all the children and parents at the Tygerberg Children’s Oncology Ward, in partnership with the Cape Community FM (CCFM). Ciro also donated Hot Chocolate and Khayelitsha Cookies for the hospital’s kitchen staff.
In true Madiba spirit, CCFM has been committed to serving the greater Cape Town community with a stated mission of “changing lives for good”. Ciro was proud to be associated with CCFM to help spread a message of hope and to bring positive, life-changing content to the people of Cape Town.
