Rise Against Hunger Africa is an international hunger relief organization that works to end hunger and malnutrition around the world. The organization was founded in 1998 as Stop Hunger Now and was later renamed Rise Against Hunger in 2017.
Rise Against Hunger Africa primarily engages volunteers in meal packaging events across South Africa, where groups come together to assemble nutritious meals that are then distributed to Early Childhood Development centres and communities in need. These events are a way for individuals and businesses to make a tangible impact in the fight against hunger in Africa.
Spur Corporation, one of the largest and most iconic South African Restaurant Group Chains, recently partnered with Rise Against Hunger Africa to raise awareness of the plight of hunger in South Africa and globally for World Hunger Day on May 28th, 2023.
This involved packing meals that are simple, highly nutritious and specifically formulated to combat malnutrition. A few Ciro team members were there on the day to lend a helping hand to this beautiful initiative driven by Spur Corporation that will definitely make a tangible impact on the less fortunate.
