Jacobs Supports those Riding for People who can’t at the 94.7 Cycle Race

On Sunday 19 November, 7 Ciro cyclists, and a host of additional volunteer riders, took to the streets of Johannesburg to complete the Telkom 94.7 Cycle Challenge in support of the Trojans Neurological Trust (TNT).

TNT has been utilising this iconic race as a fundraising initiative for its charity, whereby supporters are encouraged to join and ride the race in support of those who can’t. TNT presents 5 chariots pulled by supporting members and these chariots pull some of the charity’s beneficiaries throughout the hills of Jo’burg to raise awareness and funding towards spinal & neurological injury rehabilitation.

TNT was set up in 2007 when Justin Jeffery, a biokineticist, saw that there was a desperate need for physical neurological rehabilitation for traumatic and acquired brain injured individuals. As the cost of comprehensive rehabilitation is well in excess of the average South African’s reach, the trust aims to provide funds for treatment to those who don’t have access to medical aids and funding.

This year, Ciro, through its instant vending coffee brand Jacobs, was a proud sponsor of the riders, and of the TNT initiative, and was proud to see the team complete the race and raise awareness for this important cause. We are proud to be associated with an organisation such as TNT, who continue to change the lives of those that they treat everyday.
